Cork born Paddy Barry, now living in Dun Laoghaire, is a retired Civil Engineer; married to Mary, with four grown children. He has sailed and climbed in the Arctic and Antarctic; including a Shackleton small boat repeat and two years in Siberia. In 2024, ‘coming ashore’ for a change, Paddy with musician Brendan Begley, did a road journey from Baile Na bPoc, Kerry to Mongolia. It is of this travel through Central Asia that he will speak to us in Lismore.
