Kieran Heffernan is retired C.E.O. of Co. Waterford Vocational Education Committee. He has lived all his life in Co.Waterford and has contributed articles and illustrations to numerous books and magazines. For a number of years during the 1980’s he illustrated the cover of the Ireland’s Own magazine. He co-wrote “The History of Strancally Castle and the Valley of the Blackwater Valley between Lismore and Youghal” which was published in 2000. He is currently working on a project with local artist Andrea Jameson to record the scenery and lore of the Blackwater Valley.
